For our son's birthday, we all went to the Lego movie.  All through out , Colleen and I kept looking at each other, amused and in awe of the amount of leadership teaching we saw.

Belief, dreaming, going against the current, fighting for freedom... it was like a little Lego Major!

And the main theme song:

"Everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you're part of a team.

Everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you're living a dream!"

Hilarious!

Did anyone else notice this?  Or are we just seeing leadership everywhere because its in our heads?

We have not seen the movie yet, but the kids will be going to see it this weekend with their grandparents.  Glad to see this post!  I love when we are pleasantly surprised with media teaching positive things!  Thanks for the post!

Thank you so much for the post!   We are always looking for new ideas for our little man's goal setting and chores chart rewards.   So happy that some producers are looking out for the next generation!

Cheers

Kori

I noticed this too!!!

There's a lot to be said about freedom and individuality. So many lessons can be learned from that movie when you go beyond the Lego people.

I also found myself identifying the different personality types in the character of the movie as it went along!

One of my favourite things about Life teaching is how it promotes goal setting and the kids can learn it so young that is can become habit early.

Totally noticed the personalities too... ultra sanguine Princess Unikitty... powerfully choleric Batman and Metal Beard.  Not to mention the phlegmatic hero, Emmet.

Good movie.

We have create Lego master builders at our house now.  I do love it when the media does something that can be framed as positive for our kids.

I also love that I've learned how to get better at re-framing.  That's something that good principled leadership info has taught me. ;)

I haven't seen it yet but our kids have. Being a Lego kid at heart, it really doesn't surprise me at all that a good attitude, playing your part on a team and leading by example are present in the film. Guess it's soon movie time for this guy! What an amazing birthday treat having the whole family celebrate together.

I have to agree.

A great yet subtle leadership movie, but iI wonder if the creators of it had that intention.

Nevertheless, my young son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some great humour in there, too.

Leadership is everywhere. I've noticed it to. Don't think it's noticed until it's in the head.

The animation movie "Croods" also shows leadership skills as well !  Never be afraid to "change" and chase after hopes and dreams !!  Never give up :-)
